About Us About Us

GMR Engineering Services has broad experience managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a range of diverse and complex projects.  Our team enjoys a broad range of project management,  civil and structural design and documentation experience and we have excellent credentials as consulting engineers and engineering surveyors.  We enjoy a continuing client relationship with a number of private industry, government and semi-government agencies as well as a number of new clients.  Our business focus includes a strong client base extending across Victoria and Southern New South Wales with current continuing instructions in the alpine region in both Victoria and New South Wales.  GMR has developed and maintains a strong reputation for the assembly of multi-disciplinary teams of specialist consultants who can work together to successfully deliver complex projects on time and within budget.

Our broader capabilities centre around a general civil engineering consulting practise,  with municipal engineering,  structural engineering,  services infrastructure engineering,  traffic engineering,  engineering surveying and land development and heritage structure preservation expertise.  We also provide an engineering assessment service and regularly provide independent advice for and enjoy continuing instructions from a number of Insurance Companies and loss adjusters.

Our structural design and documentation capabilities include a range of large scale residential,  commercial and industrial projects.  Our civil design work includes a number of significant public infrastructure projects including roads,  drainage and bridges.  That work has also included land development work for the private sector.

We completed the design and documentation for the development of the Greater Shepparton Regional Sporting Precinct for the Greater Shepparton City Council.  We represented the landlord/developer and provided project management services for the Shepparton, Seymour and now the new Bunnings development in Port Augusta,  managing a team of other specialist consultants including architects,  engineers and planners.  You may note that we enjoy instructions from a wide range of clients across the state of Victoria and southern New South Wales.  We have also completed a number of other projects utilising multi-disciplinary teams which has included the production, design and documentation of the Violet Town Flood Mitigation project for Strathbogie Shire Council.

Other completed projects have included the Warragul Rail Station Upgrade,  Snobs Creek Hatchery Upgrade, design of the railway station car park extensions at Melton for Public Transport Victoria.  We have also completed similar projects throughout south west Victoria including South Geelong railway station car park.

Other projects include the design of a structural retaining wall to protect adjacent properties from flood damage on the Campaspe River; Design of a series of earth levees for flood mitigation around Moama,  Balranald and Deniliquin along the Edward River;  GMR has also designed a series of earth levees around Cobram along the Murray River,  including structural retaining walls, penstocks, culverts, removable road crossing structures.  We work closely in a project management capacity to support local government with asset management,  including field assessments and data collection,  flood damage insurance claims and securing DRFA (Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements) funds.

Another aspect to our business is our experience at Alpine Resorts such as Mount Buller, Mount Sterling.  Also structural design of mountain stairways and lookouts at Mt Stergeon and Mt Buffalo.

In recent years our business has delivered projects over an increasing geographic area beyond the Goulburn,  Murray and Riverina regions.  We continue to have strong client relationships in the Alpine areas.  Also in recent years we have maintained a regular presence in Gippsland,  particularly through our client relationship with Public Transport Victoria,  working on various projects,  including the Cranbourne to Nyora Rail Trail and the Warragul Rail Station upgrade and a number of projects in the Geelong Region,  the Melbourne Metropolitan area and the North Central area.

Our broader capabilities centre around a general civil engineering consulting practise,  with municipal engineering,  structural engineering,  services infrastructure engineering,  traffic engineering,  engineering surveying and land development expertise.

We have a complete suite of licensed software including BricsCAD,  Twinmotion,  SpaceGass,  Structural Toolkit,  Terramodel,  Geocomp,  MUSIC,  Pix 4D,  DJI Go4,  Capture and Ground Station Pro,  in addition to a comprehensive survey capability.

Our survey capability includes a TS15 robotic station and also a TC1100 total station survey instrument,  a laser and two automatic levels,  2 handheld Leica lasers (Disto') and a TruPulse laser,  several digital cameras,  measuring wheels and various other items of minor survey equipment.

The Leica Viva TS15 has the following capabilities:

We also operate 4 x UAV’s unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).  This enables general survey for difficult or inaccessible areas.  Providing us with enhanced aerial survey,  high resolution photographic (as stills or video format) and terrain modelling capabilities.  Our investment in this new technology has been significant,  resulting in the purchase of 4 x DJI UAV’s,  each with extended flight time capability.
Please visit our Drone Footage page for further information and examples.

This new equipment together with 4 vehicles,  2 of which have 4WD capabilities,  ensures GMR continues to provide more options for clients,  including time and cost saving opportunities,  whilst delivering state of the art solutions.
